Youth and Elders Program Feature

THE GOOD OLD SUMMERTIME

During the summer, Bessie’s Hope has the opportunity work with youth from all over the country.  They are from churches and other organizations doing their community service and mission trips.  It is exciting for us to provide education and training to these groups, who will be able to interact with elders in their own communities with more insight and awareness as to how interesting the lives and the stories of the elders are.  One just needs to listen and learn. The elders in our metro Denver areas enjoy spending time with all the youth and hearing about where all the groups come from.

Pictured below are residents of Park Regency of Thornton and youth groups from Saguaro Canyon Church of Tucson Arizona;  First Presbyterian Church of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin; and Hope Lutheran Church of Friendswood, Texas. The youth groups are with YouthWorks.

Other YouthWorks photos featured residents at Kipling Meadows and groups from Community Lutheran Church of Escondido, CA; Grace Lutheran Church of Erskine,  Minnesota; Cornerstone Community Church of Red Wing, Minnesota; and     First United Methodist Church of Durango, Colorado

The following set of photos are of the DenUM group from the First United Methodist Church of Wichita Falls, TX visiting residents at Kipling Meadows.

The next photo is of a DenUM group from Foundry Church in Castle Pines, CO.  They visited residents at Lakewood Villa but were unable to take photos of the residents.  The residents were all smiles!

Below are photos of the youth group, DOOR, from First Lutheran Mandan from Mandan, North Dakota and St. Mark’s from Iowa City, Iowa.  They visited two groups of elders.  This first group of photos are from Greenridge Place.

The “DOOR” group also brought love and joy to the residents of Gardens at St. Elizabeth.
